OH GOD I APPEAR TO BE GETTING KITTENS.
( PICTURES UNDER THE CUT )
Cats are not currently ~slightly too young to take home, and in any case I have to go and buy all the various things they will need-- food, litter boxes, etc-- as well as kitten-proof the apartment-- but I should have them within a couple weeks. *quiet freakout* This is going to be so weird! I've never had cats of my own before!
Now just to figure out their names... suitably geeky, of course! (One of them might already be Korra, she's an active little bugger. Not sure on the other one yet. Suggestions??)

For those who know AO3 better than I do, is there any way to search for stories that are gen and only gen? It sort of defeats the purpose of the tag when it pulls up things that have inexplicably been tagged both gen and M/M (or M/F, whatever).
Makes it rather difficult to read fic at work! ;p

There were eight thousand people wearing Avengers t-shirts at the theater today when I went to pick up my tickets. At least 75% of them were girls.
Made my little fangirl heart proud!

Now that I've got that last post out of the way...
I hate to let 2011 go without any fic from me, so here's what I'm going to do: prompt me! Give me a sentence or two-- any sentence, no matter how silly-- and I will (try to) write you a quick drabble incorporating it. (An idea of what I mean can be found here, although I'm not doing the drabble tree thing, obviously.)
Fandoms I'll take are: Homestuck, SG1, SGA, Young Avengers, Ronin Warriors, NCIS, One Piece, Invisible Man, D&D Cartoon, Runaways, Dresden Files, Vorkosigan Saga, A:tLA, and anything else I've written for in the past.
Lurkers are welcome as well! Because this is me, I can't guarantee that I'll fill every prompt, but I will try my best. :)

Welp, it's that time of year again; let's check how I did on my 2011 resolutions, shall we?
Resolution 1: I will post at least one entry a week.
Um. Well. *checks calendar* Not so much. The first part of the year was okay, but I completely dropped the ball once August rolled around-- not a single entry during that month, or during November, either.
Overall, I wrote a grand total of 27 entries the entire year, down from 59 last year.
Resolution 2: I will write something fiction-y every single day, even if it's just a sentence or a paragraph.
Hahahaha. Yeah, not so much. Again, once August rolled around, I failed at this like a failing failer. I haven't written more than a paragraph here and there in the last four months, and I posted absolutely no fic whatsoever this year. I was super excited about that Young Avengers fic, too, but inspiration just deserted me. :\
-----
(I'll be honest, though-- as much as I'm irritated with past-me* for totally screwing the whole resolutions thing, I can't really blame myself very much. I haven't talked about it much here-- or really at all-- because it's a work-related thing and I prefer to keep my internet and real lives fairly separate, and also because I don't like complaining too much, but: I am currently in the middle a seven-month long training program for my job, and it has, no lie, been the single most stressful experience of my life.
College? Pfft. Grad school? Walk in the park.
This course? It is like finals week every single week, except ten times more ineptly managed. I'd take it out back and shoot it in the head like a rabid dog if I could.
*sigh* Anyways.)
*Yes, I've been reading too much Homestuck.
-----
On to 2012:
Since I won't be done with this program for a while, I'm renewing these resolutions-- starting March 23rd, the day after I graduate. Up until then... I'm going to cut myself a break. I'll post when I can, and write when I can, but I'm not going to add on stress I don't need.
Finally, and most importantly:
Happy New Years, everyone!

This is just a note that I have officially changed my LJ user name from spark_force to
alessandriana, finally bringing it in line with every other fannish account I own (ff.net, AO3, DW and Tumblr).
This isn't a whim; spark_force was a name I chose back in 2004 when I sincerely thought I would never use the journal, and I've been meaning to change it for the last, um, three years now. It feels good to finally get around to it.
All links/bookmarks should automatically redirect from the old name to the new; please let me know if you see anything else broken so I can try and fix it.

So I seem to have gone and created myself a Tumblr. No idea if I'll ever seriously use it, but, well, that's what I said about LJ seven years ago...
Rec me people to follow there, guys? I don't hardly even know where to start.
